Swaparama This Sunday!!

So it's almost time for Craft Swaparama! Are you excited?

On Sunday 12th December, between 1pm and 4pm, you can swap your handmade items at the Victoria on Great George St in Leeds for somebody else's homemade masterpiece. Here's the info:

To register to swap, please email craftswaparama@gmail.com - you don't have to register, but due to space limitations, you may get turned away if we're too busy.

You need an item, or items, of a £10 value. This includes material and time. Basically, if you'd buy it for £10, it's got a £10 value.

For every £10 'lot', you'll get a token. This token will allow you to 'buy' another item (thus completing the swap). It will also be your entry into an amazing prize raffle. That's right, there's even prizes to be won!

So what are you waiting for? Gather together the best of your handiwork, and email craftswaparama@gmail.com to register ready for Sunday!

Exciting News

We're still working on the registration process (thanks to everyone clamouring to get signed up, and please be patient!), but in the meantime...

We have exciting news!

After Craft Swaparama finishes, we're pleased to announce there will be a special Foldageddon!

Foldageddon is an origami class held regularly in Leeds, and on 12th December from 4pm Kirsty will be folding special Christmas origami. Entry is free and materials are provided (though there will be a donation box).

URGENT UPDATE

This is proving a very popular event, and places are limited, so if you are interested you MUST book a ticket. Tickets are free, and are available from eventbrite

We can't guarantee entry without a ticket!

Coming soon...

So the date is set!

Leeds Craft Swaparama will take place on December 12th between 1 and 4pm, at The Victoria Pub on Great George Street (behind the Town Hall).

We'll be revealing details in the next couple of days on how to register to take part, and also releasing some exclusive posters and flyers to advertise the event.

Tell your friends, tell random strangers, and most importantly of all, get crafting!

Craft Swaparama at Handmade Nation

Just a quick note to let you know that we'll be at Handmade Nation on Sunday.

This is a FREE event at Nation of Shopkeepers in association with Craftsville and Leeds International Film Festival. From 4pm onwards there will be various craft workshops (I'll be leading an origami one) and craft stalls; then at 7pm there will be a showing of Handmade Nation, a documentary about indie crafting.

Come along, say hi, fold a penguin, ask any questions you might have about Swaparama, and get some ideas for your next big craft!

See you there!

So, who wants to craftswap?

Craft Swaparama is an upcoming event in Leeds, where people who craft can meet and exchange their creations.

Do you craft, but feel unsure about giving your handiwork as gifts?

Are you fabulous at your craft, but yearn to own items of craft you can't do?

Do you want to meet other crafters, and look at other crafts you've never even heard of?

Then Craft Swaparama is for you!

On 12th December between 1-4pm at the Victoria Pub, craftsters of Leeds will gather and in exchange for an item of craft of £10 value (or a collection of items to a £10 value), they will receive a token which is redeemable against any other craft item on the day.

So for example, Alma loves making jewellery. She brings along a necklace, which she swaps for a token. She uses the token to buy Henry's collection of 'zines. Henry uses his token from the 'zines to buy a pair of handknitted mittens from Molly. Molly uses her token from the mittens to buy a pack of Christmas cards from Danny. Danny uses his token from the cards to buy a necklace from...you've guessed it, Alma!
